Great job, Department of Minnesota! As of this article written on Sept. 17, the Department of Minnesota was sitting in third place nationally.
We were sitting behind France and South Dakota. Historically, have we come out the gates running at full speed, yes. This year is going to be different. We have so many awesome Legionnares working hard doing great things, and, by that, I mean everyone, every single Legion Family member is working hard to advertise, talk about and promote The American Legion, our programs, and the reasons everyone should be part of our outstanding organization.
First, as the department membership director, “Thank you!”
Our goal has been set at 58,214 this year, and we are going to make that happen. Commander Paul Hassing has promised if we make 80,000 members and reach a goal of $100,000 on the Minnesota Veterans Assistance Fund, he will dress up like Elvis and sing at the Department Convention. For those who may not be able to make it, don’t worry. I am sure we will get it recorded.
I encourage all of you to throw out other challenges to your neighboring posts, your sister district or even the Department Membership Team! You all have a vice commander. Let’s have some fun!
If potential members see or hear about our fun, they may be more eager to join. As your membership director, I am here for you! If you have questions, call, email, text, fax, mail, release a carrier pigeon, and I will get on it.
We are on the race to 100 percent, and we are over halfway there sitting at 58 percent. Let’s keep going, have membership rallies, revitalizations, share the ideas that are working in your areas, what you have done and been successful. Let’s work together to make the Department of Minnesota the cream of the crop!
You can reach me at my email: [email protected] or call 757-771-6901. If you need membership training, shoot me an email, and I will be there!
Thank you, American Legion Family in the great Department of Minnesota. This is the best place to be!
