Fund 85 Run takes off from Forest Lake
FOREST LAKE — Minnesota American Legion Foundation Fund 85 is a Minnesota American Legion effort designed to help veterans in need by providing quick funding and help in emergency situations.
The veteran can get quick help at any one of Minnesota’s American Legion Posts. However, this fund needs to be refueled as it continues to help our veterans in need of these funds.
Forest Lake Post 225 has taken on the ALR Benefit Ride for Fund 85. It will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Post 225, kickstands up at 9 a.m.
The tour heads to Arcadia, Wis., 150 miles down the road to the largest military memorial park west of Washington, D.C.
Lunch will be available in Arcadia. Take a two-hour tour through the park and head back to Forest Lake.
Upon arrival at 6 p.m. there will be food and beverages available. There will be a chase vehicle in tow with sodas, water, and tools if needed.
“I have shared this run with many people over the years and they all have enjoyed it and been inspired by the experience and camaraderie,” said Jody Hassing, director the Minnesota American Legion Riders.
