The American Legion provides representation on behalf of veterans for accessing VA benefits. If your power of attorney is the American Legion and you need assistance with your benefits, please contact our claims office and speak with your representative. This pamphlet called Code of Procedure explains the power of attorney.

Our new office Business model is focusing on appeals and referring Veterans to their local county veteran service officers for initial claims or filing initial appeal paperwork, especially for those veterans living in far outlying counties.
Our office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm daily with a lunch hour from noon to 12:45 pm, our office doors will be closed daily from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm for an administrative hour.
We are also shifting to an appointment-only system but will still provide Veteran walk-ins with intent-to-file paperwork for those looking to file new claims. We will also provide contact information for the veteran’s local county veteran service office so that they may formalize their claims with them.
Veteran walk-ins who have appeal-specific needs will be setup up on one of our iPads in one of our three video conference rooms to speak to their representative about their appeal. So far this has worked very well and is an exciting new tool we can use to serve our veterans.
Contact information for your County Veteran Service Officer (CVSO) can be found at www.macvso.org or by calling (763) 682-7326.
