Any use outside of the organization – such as merchandising, marketing by groups unaffiliated with The American Legion or at political events – is legally restricted and requires authorization.

Permission to reproduce the emblems and brand marks associated with The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion is confined to those activities as listed in the current Post Officers Guide, and this applies similarly to department logos.
