Conway elected 2008-09 Legion leader Tom Conway of Argyle was elected Minnesota American Legion Commander for 2008-09 at the annual state convention held in Bloomington. Conway is a Vietnam veteran. Seven resolutions pass the convention Seven resolutions were approved on the floor of the 2008 Convention out of the 19 that were submitted. Legionville future outlined at confab Joe Bayer, president of the Legionville Board, gave a detailed history and financial update on the safety patrol came at both the Executive Committee and general convention. Protecting the convoys Lt. John Hobot and his platoon protected 80 convoys in Iraq during the Minnesotans' 16-month deployment. From E-2 up to Admiral Paul Norby started out his Navy career as a seaman second class. He ended up at the top . A Two-Ocean War Jim Downey began the war on his LST at Omaha Beach. By the end of 1945, he had also visited Iwo Jima, Okinawa, China and Japan.
