This year all team registration will be electronic.
Registration page at Legion.org Minnesota Legion Baseball letter and instructions
Our National organization has gone to all-electronic registration this year.
Electronic registration is here to stay. Most national baseball programs have already made this step. For many teams, it will mean a different way to do things. For many posts, it will be a great advantage – eliminating some of the paperwork and allowing the post or sponsoring organization do one-stop shopping for all the fees. You will be able to pay the state fee ($100), the new National fee of $50, and pay for your insurance all at the same time electronically.
You may begin to register online on March 1.
Go to the registration page at Legion.org to begin the process. Once you register and are approved, you will be able to pay National and State fees and purchase your insurance all from that site. All forms will be there for you to complete.
Information has been sent out to all Minnesota teams and Posts. Here is the a link to that file. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY and then go to the web site to register. A short recap of the procedure is listed below.
How to register electronically
1. Go to www.legion.org and when you get to the home page, look along the right side where there will be a tab for baseball.
2. Click on baseball and the baseball page will appear. In the middle of the page, click on the green bar for “team registration now online.”
3. A fairly lengthy questionnaire will appear. Please fill out all the information on this questionnaire. Minnesota kits and rule books will be sent to the person in the questionnaire identified as the primary team contact.
4. That information will then be reviewed by state baseball officials who will confirm whether your team is eligible to play. (In 99 percent of the cases, this will not be a problem.) This may take a few days from the time you submit your information until the Department approves your team.
5. Once state approval has been given, you will be sent a login and password that will allow you to complete the registration process, enter your rosters and pay the state, national, and insurance fees. Note that the insurance fees will go to national and not directly to the S.A. Van Dyk company.
You should receive your login and password promptly. Our national organization, however, tells us that gmail and earthlink email addresses sometimes will block this return message. Please contact us if you have not received your password in a reasonable amount of time.
If you want to change your password to something more familiar to you, you can do so.
6. This new electronic form, called the Player Roster Form, replaces the old paper Form 1. We suggest that you do not hit the submit button for your roster information until you are sure the roster is final and complete. Once you “submit” the roster, the national organization considers it final and changes will not be allowed. You have until June 20, 2010, to submit your roster. A note of caution: If you submit your roster after June 20, you may be ineligible for post-season play.
7. As in past years, all insurance must be purchased by June 1, prior to your team playing baseball.
If you have problems with this process, please contact us and we’ll try to straighten it out.

Where it asks what class you are in, please enter “a” for Division I and “aa” for Division II.
All teams that play Division I and Division II in Minnesota are considered Senior teams, even if all the players are 17 or under.
Managers and Coaches please note:
All teams are required to be insured for coverage of accidents and liability. You will be able to purchase this insurance on the Legion web site. Van Dyk is the only authorized and approved
